Air pyrography is the kind of an art, where the image is created at the surface of the wooden board, as well as cardboard or heavy paper, using hot air. The only "paint" that is being used is a natural carbon layer resulting from the combustion reaction. The main difference between the air pyrography art and the well-known method of contact burning pyrography is the ability to create smooth tonal transitions in color, ranging from slightly brown to black, yielding images that give the perception of the three-dimensional depth on the plane surface without changing the surface topography.
